Certificate: | Owen Wilson, Gene Hackman, Joaquim de Almeida, Vladimir Mashkov |
Length: 105 minutes | Director: John Moore |
Rating: | Set during the Balkans conflict, Owen Wilson stars as a US naval officer who is shot down inside Bosnia while undertaking a reconnaisance mission. With no rescue mission in sight, he has to fight for his own survival, while being hotly pursued by the local militants and a notorious tracker. The film starts off as if it's going to be the usual gung-ho war movie which Hollywood likes to churn out. However, once Wilson is dropped behind enemy lines, the film moves into a different gear. The scenes inside Bosnia are shot with a degree of gritty realism, and are effective at bringing to life the horror of this recent conflict. The plot is engaging, and the film keeps up a decent pace throughout making this worth a watch. |
